2009 Les Cheneaux Pike Hunt

2009 Pike Hunt: Nearly everyone boated their limit each day.2009 Pike Hunt: Nearly everyone boated their limit each day.Nine CSF fishermen made the pilgrimage to the upper peninsula’s Les Cheneaux Islands for the 2009 Northern Lights “Pike Hunt”, May 22 through 25. Mike Ekkens made the arrangements and secured the accommodations. Mike reports that the weather was excellent.

Fishing must not have been too bad, either. Most everyone boated their limit of “northerns” each and every day. The biggest of the trip was a sway-belly specimen boated by John Everett.

Enough fish were caught to not only feed the multitude, but to fill the coolers for the trip home.

The annual Pike Hunt is open to anyone interested in participating in Christian Sportsmen’s Fellowship activities. If you’re interested in taking part in the 2010 “hunt”, monitor this website closely. Plans are already in the works. Registration information will be available after January 1.
