2010 Trout Camp

About 18 participants were on hand for the 3 day event, May 14-16. Camping activities were centered around the Old Grade campground a few miles north of Baldwin. Fishermen radiated out to nearby hotspots such as the Pere Marquette River, Little Manistee and Tippy Dam on the Manistee.

Michigan’s renowned angler, Jim Bedford, was again on hand to provide practical advice and on-stream demonstrations in the art of spinner fishing. Larry Hull provided similar instruction in fly fishing with streamers.

The organizers did an excellent job in providing two “hot squares” a day (breakfast and supper). Fixings for bag lunches were available for those heading out to the stream for an all day excursion.

One of the many highlights of Trout Camp this year, was the baptism of a new Christian brother in the Little Manistee River.

Trout Camp is normally scheduled for the weekend between Mother’s Day and Memorial Weekend. Registration is open to anyone. Keep a close eye on this website, and the www.mycsf.com website for details about next year’s event.
